Scientific approaches to improving the motivation of environmentally oriented activity
(original language – Ukrainian)

The article tackles the problems of motivation for environmentally oriented activity. The
shortcomings of practical application of external positive and negative motivations are addressed. The
main emphasis is on the formation and activation of a person's internal motivation to environmentally
friendly activities through “green” education and science. The development of such an approach should
complement the economic incentives to reducehuman impact on the environment, and will also
contribute to a more adequate accounting of the value of natural functions in the economic valuation of
ecosystem services.
