The place and role of biotechnology in environmental-economic development of society

The article analyzes the current state of the development and use of biotechnology in various spheres of economic activity as one of the main directions of scientific and technological progress. Based on this analysis the authors determined the place and role of biotechnology in resolving environmental and economic problems.
