The Economic Nature of Corporate Development

The topical issues of corporate development are considered. Scholars’ views on the essence of development and corporate development categories are analyzed. The content of development as the general scientific category is specified. The corporate development concept is disclosed. The content of categories of progress, evolution, genesis, growth and movement is researched and proved that they cannot be equated with development. The features of corporate development compared to development of the other systems are disclosed. Two approaches to understanding the nature of development and the corporate development are determined. The first, broad approach takes into account any changes, the other – only positive ones. The examples of possible practical use of both approaches are given. Not only the qualitative changes but also the quantitative ones are suggested to be considered in development if they complement each other, creating synergy.
