Creative Economy as a Basis for Integrated Development of Ukrainian Cities

The article substantiates the necessity of spreading in Ukraine the concept of sustainable urban development and the functioning of creative industries as a means of renovating cities, which are characterized by crisis economic and demographic trends. The main characteristics of the creative economy were considered; positive results of its introduction in foreign countries for urban development were explored, namely in Great Britain, Germany and the USA. Authors substantiate that creative industries generate new jobs, promote economic diversification and the development of a comfortable urban environment. The economic situation and demographic trends in Poltava were analyzed and perspective directions of creative industries development in it were grounded. The forecasting of the demographic situation in Poltava until 2050 was carried out, while maintaining the existing trends and implementing the concept of the city integrated development, focused on the development of creative economy in the city.
